Secret Garden Jewellery Box - II

This handpainted, one-of-a-kind jewellery box is the second in a small series made in collaboration with local woodworker Wolf Spiering. A form I designed and he shaped from the finest wood. It is a perfect size, with space to hold up to twenty-eight rings, alongside pendants, bracelets, and necklaces and one thicker bandring in the top compartment. Plus, when folded completely open, the lid functions as a larger open tray compartment. 

Inside, every compartment is individually lined with fine bright red silk velvet and brown velvet edges, cut and placed by hand. 
The exterior is painted with a flower blooming from this Secret Garden. The wood is finished with 2 layers of protective lacquer. Made to house jewelry that is treasured and worn.
