Secret Garden Jewellery Box

This handpainted, one-of-a-kind jewellery box is the first in a small series made in collaboration with local woodworker Wolf Spiering. A form I designed and he shaped from the finest -wood. It is a perfect size, with space to hold up to twenty-eight rings, alongside pendants, bracelets, and necklaces and one thicker bandring in the top compartment. Plus, when folded completely open, the lid functions as a larger open tray compartment. 

Inside, every compartment is individually lined with fine blue and red silk velvet, cut and placed by hand. 
The exterior is painted with five blooms from the Secret Garden, each one rendered in rich color and fine detail across the lid. The wood is finished with 2 layers of protective lacquer. Made to house jewelry that is treasured and worn.
